What's Happening This Week at the Knit Affair?

Hey All,

In an effort to be more diligent with the blog, I thought I would post a little update on the going's on at the knit shop.

We are posting our newsletter this week so look for that in your e-mail boxes. Or, if you still prefer a hard copy, stop into the shop for the good old fashioned paper kind that you can post to your fridge.

We are going to be working on a few new projects during February and March. A few of us actually casted on and finished the 5 hour baby sweater. This is Rosemary's sweater below.

Rosemary used a superwash wool from Lorna's Lace's for her version. I finished a pretty little one in a red quattro from Cascade for Charlotte to sport on Valentine's day. The pattern for this little beauty was actually written in the 1950's. The story goes that the author of the pattern intended for the knitter to be able to knit this sweater so quickly, that they could knit one to keep, and one to give away to charity. It's a great pattern. This is actually the forth time I have made Charlotte this particular sweater. She's had one in every size so far. It's knit from the top down, and in one piece. You only have to seam up the arms at the end! It does state that it could be finished in 5 hours. I personally have never managed it, but then......I get distracted easily:)

So, for those of you who would like to be able to check the blog, and see what's coming up at the shop - I thought I would post the class schedule for the next 2 months. Call or stop by to register.

We're Back!!!!!

That's right, inventory is over! Whoohoo! We hate counting more than anything. We would like to thank everyone who did their part to help us count less by stopping by for the big yarn sale week before last. :)

You may have read our previous post where we mentioned that Torey and I had spent some time at the semi-annual TNNA yarn show. Seems some of the new stuff we ordered found it's way to us a little sooner than expected. That's right, not only are we back to our regularly scheduled hours starting Tuesday, February 3rd - but we have some new yarn lines in to share with you! Above is a picture of a new line called "Sublime". it's the perfect soft weight yarn for all of your spring or baby knitting projects. As you can see, the colors are just beautiful. Find some time this week to come check it out in person.

We are very excited to get back to all of you and our new project plans for spring. Stay tuned. We will be posting our new class projects later this week. Also, we have our first Late Night Sit 'n Knit of the new year coming up on Saturday, February 21st. We are going to have a pajama party theme for this month's event. So, start planning your outfit now. There will be a prize for the best pajama's!

Meet you by the wool,

Rob
