Falling Yarn Sale

It's that special time of year again. Next week the Knit Affair is having our annual Falling Yarn Sale. If you remember this sale from last year, then you know that this is the best time for you to buy yarn at discounted prices. We still have our normal 40% off bargains, but next week, October 2nd-6th, all of our yarn will be marked down 15% and if you bring in our special e-mail offer you can even get greater discounts. If you did not get our e-mail offer, send us your e-mail address at www.knitafffair.com and we will make sure that you are included in our e-mail offers.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity. The new Fall Yarns are coming and we need to make room.

See you at the Knit Affair,

Torey

Breast Cancer Walk and Afghan Raffle at Corona City Hall, Saturday, September 29th

Hi Everyone,

As in the past, the Knit Affair along with the Yoga Den Health Spa of Corona are throwing their support behind the fight against Breast Cancer. The Knit Affair group have been knitting Breast Cancer blocks for an Afghan to be raffled during the month of October. Raffle tickets will be sold at this event, at the Knit Affair and at the Yoga Den Health Spa through the month of October. All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation for Community and Family Health to benefit the cure for Breast Cancer.

This is a a team and individual event and a fun time for a great cause. The Foundation for Community and Family Health is a non-competitive walk supporting the Foundation’s commitment to fight cancer on through early detection and education. Today, there is more hope than ever for people touched by breast cancer. However, outreach to promote early detection and support to those living with the disease is still needed.
The Foundation for Community and Family Health encourages all of us to unite in this effort and pool our resources to create a brighter, healthier future for our community.

Join us in our local fight against Breast Cancer. Walk for yourself, your daughter, your loved one, your friend, your mother, your community. You can make a difference.

September 2007 Class Projects

Hi Everyone,

We have attached pictures that will give you a birds eye view of our class projects for September. Double click on the pictures and you can enlarge them for a better look.

This is our Lace Accessory Bag from "handknit HOLIDAYS". I used Trendsetter's Pakucho 100% Organic Natural Cotton for the pouch and found a cute floral print fabric for the liner and completed the bag with a pink rhine stone zipper to add the finishing touches. This is a great project and lot's of fun to knit. This could just be the perfect gift for the upcoming Season.

In class on Wednesday evening, I started a Lace Carpet Bag using Rowan's Yorkshire tweed dk. I love the way that this bag and yarn is coming together. I am going to work five rows of the lace scallop pattern and finish the bag off with this paisley liner and find some cute leather handles to complete the look. Watch for the finished project, so far everyone is talking about this bag.

This is the Reversed Cabled Scarf. The great thing about this project is that your cable looks the same on both sides. The yarn that I used was Marl La by Classic Elite Yarns which is a bulky weight yarn on my size 17 needles. But the nice thing about this project is the flexibility. You can choose any yarn weight that you prefer and your cabled scarf will look great.

I think that you can see that we are going to have a very exciting September at the Knit Affair. These are just some of the examples that I have done. There are always many variations that we come up with during our classes. Come an join in the projects and the fun.
See you at the Knit Affair,
Torey
